We chose The Orchard because it is not an upload service. It is part of Sony Music Entertainment, with teams in more than 40 countries, and it holds the stores' own trust ratings: Spotify lists it as a Preferred distributor, and it is one of the few distributors with Apple Music's Preferred Plus status. Stores know that what comes through The Orchard has been checked, so your releases carry more weight and meet less red tape on the way to their editors.
The Orchard works with labels, not individual uploaders, and does not take unsolicited music. Every release has to meet its content, metadata and rights standards, which is what stores and their editors expect from it. Your releases go out alongside the catalogues of established independent labels, not into an anonymous feed.
That standard is why our Label Services is about quality, not quantity. Our access to The Orchard depends on the catalogue we deliver, so the same rules apply to every label.
Every field follows The Orchard's own product and track forms, with their genre, language, role and pricing lists, so nothing is guessed at delivery.
Tracks and credits — Audio, ISRC, performers, songwriters, ownership and samples - per track, with Apply to all for what the whole release shares.
Rights — Confirm master, artwork and sample rights, and attach the documents that prove them.
Checked before it goes — Missing or invalid fields are named before submission, not after a rejection.
Submitting locks the release and hands it to us. We deliver it through The Orchard under your own label name, and tell you when it is done.
Your own imprint — Releases go out under your label's name, not ours.
Release date warnings — Told plainly when a date is too close for the stores to be ready.
Corrections go through an unlock request, and pull-downs through a request we action with The Orchard. Every step is kept, so you can always show what happened to a release.

Your package — Download exactly what we deliver: the metadata sheet, audio, artwork and rights documents.
The Orchard accepts our catalogue because we keep it clean. Every release is checked before it goes, and some music we do not take at all.
No AI-generated audio — Music made or voiced by AI is not accepted, in whole or in part.
No cover versions — We distribute original recordings only. Covers, soundalikes and tributes are not accepted.
Your copyright — You must own or control the master and hold every licence behind it: artists, producers, samples and artwork.
Proof of rights — New labels upload the documents with every release, and we can ask for them at any time.
12 tracks per artist, 50 per label — Per calendar month, back catalogue included. An album over the limit can be agreed with us.
